New develoments :
My VDO gauges made a short touch-and-go at my office on Thursday as the delivery woman did not have any change (it was "paid on delivery"). I just needed 7 Eur back. She just had 3Eur in change. So I told her to take it back and come back on Monday.
In the meantime, I got more info about my Mocal sandwish plate. It features 1/2" BSP outlets for the sensors. So I must find adaptors that go from male 1/2 BSP to female metric M10, M12 or M14 to suit the VDO sensors. I could not find any. I just found some adaptors to 1/4 NPT (I can source VDO sensors with 1/8 NPT in US or UK, but an extra pair of adaptors would be needed) or to 3/8 BSP (useless!).
Other solution, take two 1/2 BSP blanking plugs from Mocal, drill a hole and tap a (any) metric thread in them. I'll go for that I think.
Also, I ordered 2 extra plugs in case we have sensor fitting problems (leaks?) after the installation of the sandwish plate (at the dealer, at next oil change before the end of the month), so I can drive off in any cases.
I'm also starting to thing about the integration of the 2 gauges at the bottom of the centre console (in lieu of the ashtray). A nice adaptor part exist in Japan (also sold in US) at a very very steep $333 USD!!!! No way José!
