I am having rough idle issues for some time now. What I mean by this is that sometimes the car idles around 700 and shakes a bit and goes up to 900 again, and back to 700 and then 900 again... I also have the famous warm start issue but works in 2-3 seconds usually. It might be a sign of low compression but the mazda dealers around amsterdam really don't know anything about rx-8 (they want to change plugs, coils, ...). Do you know if there is any place where I can do a compression check (a place close to Amsterdam I hope) before investing in coil change, starter change and such? My car is at 80k and from 2004. Plugs have been changed recently and coils was changed 2 years ago (around 10k kms ago). I must stay I don't really feel a loss of power but cannot be sure before using an other RX8...

is misschien wel poosje rijden maar dan weet je het wel zeker en goed..
maak je er gelijk dagje uit van...
ga niet naar een lokaal garage of dealer want die weten er of te weinig van en vragen veel en veelste veel geld ervoor.
vooral de Mazda dealers

Clean your crank angle sensor.
Maybe that helps.
